Kosmetyki Lumene zdążyłam już spisać na straty po tym, gdy na jakimś zagranicznym blogu przeczytałam, że firma ta nie ma w swoim asortymencie kosmetyków wegańskich. Zmartwiło mnie to, bo to fińska firma, którą chciałam wspierać, kusiły mnie też ich ciekawe arktyczne składniki, ale cóż mogłam zrobić. Niedawno w ręce wpadł mi żel pod prysznic Lumene Angry Birds, którego skład wyglądał na wegański, dlatego postanowiłam sama napisać do Lumene w sprawie niewegańskich składników w ich produktach. Oto odpowiedź, którą otrzymałam:

Thank you for your message and interest towards Lumene products!

At the moment, we do not use any ingredients from animals such as tallow, musk or carmine in our products, and we only use vegetable based glycerin. However, we do use some ingredients that are derived from animals, such as beeswax, honey, milk protein and lanolin. We do not use anything from other animals.

Our philosophy is based on the unique Arctic ingredients and natural ingredients in general, which does not mean entirely vegetable based products – we feel that ingredients like honey and beeswax complement the vegetable based ingredients and fit well into Lumene philosophy and values. Even though they are animal derived products, they are natural and sustainable ingredients.

Unfortunately currently we don't have a list of vegan products.

Lumene does not carry out or commission animal testing on raw materials or products. The safety of our products is ensured with in vivo and in vitro tests. As a Finnish company, Lumene complies with the EU cosmetics legislation that bans testing on animals. The observance of legislation concerning the cosmetics industry (including the ban on animal testing) is monitored in Finland by the Finnish Safety and Chemicals Agency (Tukes, http://www.tukes.fi/), and Lumene is obliged to provide Tukes with a report of the safety of its products and raw materials and the related studies and of the observance of law in its activities. This also includes monitoring of the fact that no animal tests are carried out.
